The company was created in 1990. Its database was then built country by country whilst being used by customers during the development period. It is a compact company set in a country house in a beautiful valley in southern England. The database is run on the latest Dell Pentium 3 computers using the latest Microsoft networking software.
The database software is wholly supported by the company that developed it – The Database Group Ltd of Bristol. The European Database of Libraries has not changed ownership since it was created. It retains all its original suppliers, staff and bankers.
